About

Karina Valle, MSW, LCSW-S

Karina Valle, MSW, LCSW-S, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health services. She has worked with diverse populations and individuals across the lifespan and has provided services in a wide range of settings, including community health clinics, schools, hospitals, and youth-serving programs. Since 2012, she has provided comprehensive mental health services within a private practice setting. Her professional background includes experience in special education, program management, program leadership and directorship, administration, and clinical supervision, which has contributed to a strong clinical foundation and informed her work in the treatment of single-incident and complex trauma through a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Ms. Valle has received training in a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with moderate to severe mental health concerns. Many of the individuals she serves are survivors of traumatic experiences such as sexual violence, domestic violence, kidnapping, motor vehicle accidents, and physical assault. Her clinical experience includes the assessment and treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorders, and family-related concerns. Her approach to care is collaborative and individualized, with an emphasis on meeting clients where they are and working together to support improved functioning, self-reliance, and overall well-being.

In addition to psychotherapy services, Ms. Valle has an established track record in conducting clinical immigration evaluations, with a focus on providing accurate, objective, and ethically sound assessments for immigrants and their families. Her work is informed by cultural responsiveness and an understanding of sociocultural factors that may impact mental health and well-being. She is a graduate of the Immigration Evaluation Institute. Clinical evaluations are conducted in accordance with professional and ethical standards and are distinct from psychotherapy services. She also conducts pre-bariatric psychological assessments to support individuals in preparing for treatment and to enhance readiness and informed decision-making related to weight-loss interventions.

Ms. Valle earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2005. She completed her undergraduate studies in Education and Social Work at Lubbock Christian University. She is certified as an Advanced Forensic Social Worker (AFSW) and served as a member of the NASW South Plains Branch Steering Committee from 2021 to 2024.
